 CHRISTMAS CONCERT 2022 THE DAC BAND CHRISTMAS CONCERT WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY DECEMBER 11TH AT ST. PATRICK SCHOOL IN CHESTERTON. THE PERFORMANCE WILL BEGIN AT 5:00PM AND ADMISSION WILL BE $5. THE DRESS REHEARSAL FOR THE CONCERT WILL BE ON SATURDAY DECEMBER 10TH. THIS WILL BE THE 11TH ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CONCERT FOR THE DUNELAND AREA COMMUNITY BAND PROGRAM - ALL FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE WELCOME! ICE CREAM SOCIAL DAC BAND WILL HAVE A TABLE SET UP AT THE ST. PATS ICE CREAM SOCIAL ON SUNDAY AUGUST 7TH. ANY STUDENT OR FAMILY INTERESTED IN DAC BAND CAN STOP BY ANY TIME BETWEEN 12:00 AND 2:OOPM TO MEET THE BAND DIRECTOR AND GET INFORMATION ABOUT THE BAND PROGRAM. DAC BAND 2022 WE HAVE JUST FINISHED THE SUMMER BAND PROGRAM AND WE ARE NOW READY TO START THE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR. LESSONS AND REHEARSALS WILL NOW TAKE PLACE ONLY IN CHESTERTON AT ST. PATRICK SCHOOL. REHEARSALS WILL BEGIN ON TUESDAY AUGUST 23RD WITH BEGINNING BAND 3:00-4:00, INTERMEDIATE BAND 4:00-5:00 AND SYMPHONIC BAND 5:00-6:15. LESSONS WILL BEGIN ON MONDAY SEPTEMBER 12TH. INSTRUMENT TRYOUT/SIGN UP MEETING 2022 DAC BAND WILL BE HAVING AN INSTRUMENT TRYOUT AND SIGN UP MEETING ON MONDAY MAY 16TH AT ST. PATRICK SCHOOL IN CHESTERTON. (640 N. CALUMET RD. CHESTERTON, IN 46304). INTERESTED STUDENTS GOING INTO GRADES 4-12 ARE WELCOME TO COME ANYTIME BETWEEN 6:00-8:00 TO TRY THE BAND INSTRUMENTS TO SEE WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO PLAY IN THE BAND. LESSONS ARE CURRENTLY OFFERED IN BOTH CHESTERTON AND MICHIGAN CITY. PRIVATE SCHOOL, PUBLIC SCHOOL AND HOME SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE ALL WELCOME. WELCOME TO A NEW YEAR OF DAC BAND 2022! DAC Band is back for a new year starting with our summer band program. In information about the summer is coming soon! WE'RE BACK!!! DAC BAND IS BACK FOR 2021-2022! WE WILL BE HAVING SUMMER BAND LESSONS FOR BEGINNINERS STARTING IN JULY. LESSONS IN CHESTERTON WILL BE HELD AT ST. PATRICK SCHOOL (640 N. CALUMET RD. CHESTERTON, IN 46304) AND LESSONS IN MICHIGAN CITY WILL BE HELD AT THE IBEW COMMUNITY CENTER (301 E. 8TH ST. MICHIGAN CITY, IN 46360). PLEASE SEE THE SCHEDULES PAGE FOR DETAILS. DAC BAND IN 2021 DAC BAND WILL CONTINUE TO DO LESSONS ONLINE INTO 2021. WE WILL BE KEEPING AN EYE ON THE CURRENT SITUATION AND WHEN IT IS POSSIBLE WE WILL TRY TO RETURN TO IN PERSON LESSONS AND REHEARSALS. IN THE MEANTIME ALL DAC BAND MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO CONTACT THE BAND DIRECTOR (IF THEY HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO) TO SET UP ZOOM LESSONS. ALL STUDENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN ZOOM LESSONS WILL RESUME FOR 2021. PLEASE WEAR A MASK AND STAY SAFE! DAC BAND LESSONS ONLINE In these unique times we are experiencing we want to make sure our DAC Band family stays safe so we have unfortunately cancelled our Bands in Review concert for this year. We are, however, keeping positive thoughts for when we can plan our next performance. Until then we will be doing our band lessons on Zoom. All band members are asked to sign up for a free account on Zoom and each student will have a weekly lesson - students can contact the band director to set up a day and time. In addition, all students will continue to receive their new music by email. Let's all brighten up our lives and homes with music and look forward to the time we can play together again. Everyone please stay safe!!! PERFORMANCE POSTPONED Out of an abundance of caution, due to concerns over the situation with the coronavirus we will be postponing our Bands in Review concert. Students and families will be notified when the performance will be rescheduled. Everyone please take all precautions possible and be safe! DAC BANDS IN REVIEW We had a great time at our Rockin' the Stands concert in February and now we are excited to present our ninth annual Bands in Review concert on Sunday March 15th. All members of the DAC Bands will give a performance of American music at the IBEW Community Center in Michigan City Indiana. Admission is $5, the doors will open at 4:30 and the concert will begin at 5:00PM. Everyone is welcome to come and help us celebrate our country with music! DAC ROCKIN' THE STANDS 2020 Happy 2020! The Duneland Area Community Bands will present the third annual Rockin' the Stands Concert on Sunday, February 9 beginning at 5 PM. Admission for the public will be $5 and the doors will open at 4:30. All family and friends are welcome to join us as we play some wonderful rock classics that will rock the stands! DAC CHRISTMAS CONCERT 2019 The Duneland Area Community Bands present their ninth annual Christmas concert on Sunday December 15 beginning at 5 PM. The performance will feature the Beginning, Intermediate and Symphonic Bands of the DAC and Program. All friends and family as well as members of the public are invited to attend. Performance will be held at the IBEW Community Center in Michigan City, Indiana. LET'S GET STARTED! Our first rehearsals of the 2019-2020 season are coming up soon. The first rehearsal in Chesterton will be on Tuesday August 20th at St. Patrick School - Symphonic Band will rehearse from 3:00-4:15 and Beginning Band will practice from 4:15-5:15. Lessons for the Chesterton area will begin on September 9th. The first rehearsal for the Michigan City area will be on Thursday August 22nd at the IBEW Community Center in Michigan City - Beginning Band will rehearse from 4:00-5:00, Intermediate Band from 5:15-6:30 and Symphonic Band from 6:45-8:00. We're looking forward to seeing everyone there and getting started on the new year! WE'RE MOVING! OUR MICHIGAN CITY REHEARSAL SITE IS MOVING TO A NEW LOCATION. WE WILL NOW BE LOCATED IN THE NECA IBEW COMMUNITY CENTER AT 301 E. 8TH ST. Our first lessons held in our new place will be the Michigan City area summer band lessons beginning on Monday July 29th. DAC BANDS 2019 SPRING SHOW The DAC Bands will present their 2019 spring show "Just Imagine" for four performances in May. We will perform for the Michigan City area schools on Monday May 13 with two performances at the Holdcraft Performing Arts Center - the first performance will be at 9:45AM and the second at 12:45 PM. Next we will perform at St. Patrick's School in Chesterton on Wednesday May 15 with a performance beginning at 9 AM . Our final performance of "Just Imagine" will be on Sunday May 19 at the Holdcraft Performing Arts Center in Michigan City. The performance will start at 5 PM and all family and friends are welcome! DAC BANDS IN REVIEW CONCERT Everyone is invited to join the DAC Bands our eighth annual Bands in Review concert on Sunday March 17th at the Holdcraft Performing Arts Center in Michigan City, IN. The concert will begin at 6:00pm and will feature music from around the world. Come join us on our musical journey! DAC BANDS ANNUAL SPRING SHOW The DAC Bands will present our spring show of 2018 - "Journey to the Stars" - for area schools on Monday May 14th at the Holdcraft Performing Arts Center in Michigan City. On Sunday May 20th we will perform our final concert for family and friends at HPAC beginning at 5:00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend! DAC BANDS IN REVIEW CONCERT THE SEVENTH ANNUAL BANDS IN REVIEW CONCERT WILL BE PRESENTED BY THE DAC BANDS ON SUNDAY MARCH 18TH AT THE HOLDCRAFT PERFORMING ARTS CENTER IN MICHIGAN CITY, INDIANA. THE PERFORMANCE WILL FEATURE THE BEGINNING, INTERMEDIATE AND SYMPHONIC BANDS AND WILL BEGIN AT 5:00PM. ALL FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND! DAC CHRISTMAS CONCERT 2017 The seventh annual "A Christmas Celebration" concert will be held on Sunday December 17th at the Holdcraft Performing Arts Center in Michigan City Indiana. This year's theme is "Let it Snow" and the concert will feature performances by the Beginning Band, the Intermediate Band, the Symphonic Band and the DAC Woodwind Choir. The performance will begin at 5:00pm and admission is $5.00. Everyone is welcome to come and share some Christmas cheer with the DAC Bands! FALL REHEARSALS The DAC Bands are ready to begin the 2017–2018 school year! The first rehearsal for the Chesterton area will be Tuesday, August 15 at Saint Patrick School in Chesterton. Symphonic Band will rehearse from 2:45 to 4:00, Intermediate Band from 4:00 to 5:00 and Beginning Band from 5:00 to 6:00. Rehearsals for the Michigan City area will begin on Thursday, August 17 with Beginning Band practicing from 4:00 to 5:00, Intermediate Band from 5:15 to 6:30 and Symphonic Band from 6:45 to 8:00. We're looking forward to getting started on the next part of our musical journey! SUMMER BAND Summer band lessons for students who are new to the DAC Band Program will begin on Monday, July 10 in the Chesterton area and Tuesday, July 11 in the Michigan City area. Chesterton area lessons will be held at St. Patrick's School in Chesterton and lessons in Michigan City will be held at the Holdcraft Performing Arts Center (formerly Elston middle school). For lesson class schedules please go to the "Student forms" page and check either the Chesterton area or the Michigan City area summer band form. All students in grades four through 12 are welcome, please contact the band director with any questions you may have. DAC SPRING SHOW Coming up is the DAC Band annual spring show. This year our show will be the "Awesome Eighties" and we will be giving four performances for our spring tour 2017. On Monday, May 15 we will be giving two performances at the Elston Performing Arts Center for students in the Michigan city area - one beginning at 9:45am and one beginning at 12:45pm. On Thursday, May 18 we will be performing at St. Patrick's School in Chesterton with the show beginning at 8:45. On Sunday May 21 we will give our final performance for family and friends at the Elston Performing Arts Center - the show will begin at 5:00pm. Everyone is welcome to come and see the DAC Bands take their trip through the "Awesome Eighties"! BANDS IN REVIEW CONCERT The next performance for the DAC Bands is coming up soon! On Sunday March 19th we will be performing our sixth annual "Bands in Review" concert at the Elston Performing Arts Center in Michigan City. The concert will feature the Beginning, Intermediate and Symphonic Bands and will begin at 5:00pm with admission of $5 per person. All family and friends are welcome to attend! DRESS REHEARSAL FOR BANDS IN REVIEW The dress rehearsal for our annual Bands in Review concert will be on Saturday March 18th at the Elston Performing Arts Center. FALL REHEARSALS BEGIN FOR 2016 The start of rehearsals for the DAC Bands are coming up fast! Rehearsals for the Chesterton area will begin on Tuesday, August 16 at St. Patrick's School in Chesterton. Times for this first rehearsal will be Symphonic Band 2:00 - 3:15, Intermediate Band 3:15 to 4:15 and Beginning Band from 4:15 to 5:15. Starting on Tuesday, August 23 we will move to our regular rehearsal times, Symphonic Band 2:45-4:00, Intermediate Band 4:00-5:00 and Beginning Band from 5:00-6:00. Lessons for Chesterton area students will begin on Monday, September 12 . Rehearsals in the Michigan city area will begin on Thursday, August 18 at the Elston Performing Arts Center in Michigan city. Beginning Band will meet from 4:00-5:00, Intermediate Band 5:15 to 6:30 and Symphonic Band from 6:45 to 8:00. Lessons for the Michigan city area students will begin the week of September 5th. WE'RE MOVING! We are excited to moving our Michigan City area location to the Elston Performing Arts Center! We are VERY grateful to the Young People's Theatre Company for the use of their beautiful facilities! Michigan City area summer band lessons will be held here (1200 Spring St. Michigan City 46360) as well as band rehearsals in the fall. The DAC Band program is pleased to offer a summer band program to start new students off on their musical journey. The summer band sessions allow students to attend lessons of like instruments: this in turn allows each students to establish a strong foundation in her/his playing before the school year begins. We offer summer lessons in two locations - St. Patrick School in Chesterton (640 N. Calumet Road Chesterton, IN 46304) and the Elston Performing Arts Center in Michigan City (1200 Spring St. Michigan City, In 46360). Parents can choose whichever location they like - this can be all in one location or any combination of lessons dates and times.
